With a total of 7.000€ in prizes,
well-coordinated organization, elite dancers from around the world, renowned judges, and transparent scoring, we’re the leading international social dance competition.
The Bachata Social World Cup will be in a Jack and Jill format, which means that you don’t need to join with a partner, as dancers will be matched up randomly. Besides, it is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and creativity. But the most important thing is that you will have a lot of fun!
How can I join? Registration
Deadlines
- Registrations will open on January 17th January.
- Registrations will close on Sunday 28th January.
Announcement of selected participants will be on Wednesday 7th February.- Selected participants published here.
- There will be only 150 spots.
- If there are more than 150 applications, our committee will select the best 75 leaders and 75 followers to participate based on the video uploaded in the registration form.
- Payment details will be provided once your participation will be confirmed.
- If you have a full pass, the registration fee is 5 EUR.
- If you have a party pass, the registration fee is 10 EUR.
- If you want to watch the competition, you can enter for free.

What is gonna be evaluated? Judging Criteria

- The Timing: The steps are in rhythm with the music.
- The Technique: Quality of guidance/following, and cleanliness of the dance.
- The Musicality: Dance, musical interpretation and music culture.
- The Connection: Dancer’s ability to understand each other and have fun.
- The Attitude & Styling: Individual interpretation and self-expression on the dance floor.
How are you gonna be evaluated? Rating System
▶ Classification groups & Preliminaries: The judges will evaluate each participant in the corresponding role using a scale from 0 to 5. The average of these scores will then be calculated to determine the results.
▶ Semifinals: The judges will evaluate each participant using a scale from 0 to 5.
▶ Finals:
- The judges will evaluate each participant in the corresponding role on a scale from 0 to 3 for each of the criteria listed above.
- Participants will score each of the finalists they have danced with on a scale from 0 to 5.
⚠️ In the event of a tie between participants, all tied contestants will advance to the next round.
You have to respect... The Rules
- Dorsal Collection: Please ensure to collect your dorsal by 17:00.
- Punctuality Requirement: Late arrivals will result in disqualification, and your spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
- Competition Briefing: Be present for the competition debriefing at 17:45.
- Dorsal Display: Your dorsal must be worn and visible at all times.
- Acrobatics Limitation: Acrobatic moves above the shoulders are prohibited.
- Format: The competition follows a Jack and Jill format, which includes partner rotation with each song.
- Respect and Conduct: Respect towards other dancers and judges is mandatory. Inappropriate or uncomfortable behavior will lead to disqualification.
- Open Participation: Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of teaching experience.
- Scoring Transparency: Results will be posted as soon as they are available.
- Enjoyment: The most important rule – Have fun!
How is the competition structured? The Format
Sunday 7th April
▶ 15:00 – 17:00 | Dorsal delivery
▶ 17:00 – 17:45 | Social Dancing warmup
▶ 17:45 – 18:00 | Debriefing
▶ 18:00 – 19:25 | Classification groups
- There will be 3 random groups composed of 25 couples.
- The best 30 leaders and 30 followers will be chosen to go to the preliminaries.
- 7 songs with different bachata styles will be played (3 partners pers song).
▶ 19:25 – 19:45 | Break – Social Dancing
▶ 19:45 – 20:15 | Preliminaries
- The preliminaries are composed of the best 30 couples.
- The best 15 couples will be classified into the semifinal.
- 8 songs with different bachata styles will be played (3 partners pers song).
▶ 20:15 – 20:30 | Break – Social Dancing
▶ 20:30 – 21:00 | Semifinal
- The semifinal is composed of 15 couples.
- The best 6 couples will be classified into the final.
- 7 songs with different bachata styles will be played (3 partners pers song).

▶ 23:00 – 23:45 | Final
- The final is composed of the best 6 couples.
- 3 songs with different bachata styles will be played. Participants will switch with participants (2 partners per song).
