These Terms cover your attendance at the Festival. Purchase, payment, and refunds run through our official ticketing provider, Go&Dance, and are governed by its own terms. Please read both before buying a ticket.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your attendance at Bachata Geneva Festival 2026 ("BGF", "the Festival", "we", "us"), held from 8 to 12 October 2026 at the Palexpo Congress Center, Geneva, Switzerland. By purchasing a ticket, registering, or entering the Festival, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
Tickets are sold through our official ticketing provider, Go&Dance. The purchase process, payment, and billing are governed by that provider’s own terms and conditions; the present Terms cover your attendance at the event itself.
2. The organizer
The Festival is organized by Bachata Geneva Festival, an association based at Avenue de l’Étang 56, 1219 Châtelaine, Geneva, Switzerland. Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@bachatagenevafestival.com.
3. Tickets, passes & entry
- A valid ticket or pass is required for entry. On arrival you will receive a wristband that must be worn and kept intact for the whole Festival; a damaged, removed, or tampered wristband is void.
- Wristbands and passes remain our property and may be checked at any time. We may ask for valid photo ID matching the ticket holder.
- Lost, stolen, or damaged wristbands cannot be replaced free of charge, and we cannot guarantee re-entry without a valid wristband.
- Reselling tickets above face value, or through unofficial channels, is prohibited and may result in the ticket being voided without refund.
- Name changes and transfers, where permitted, are handled through our ticketing provider, Go&Dance, and subject to its rules.
4. Refunds, cancellation & program changes
- All sales are final. Except where required by applicable law, tickets and passes are non-refundable; any refund or exchange is handled through our ticketing provider, Go&Dance, and subject to its terms.
- The program, schedule, artists, instructors, and activities are indicative and may change without notice. The replacement or absence of any individual artist or instructor does not entitle you to a refund.
- If we cancel the Festival in full, ticket holders will be offered a refund or, where available, a transfer to a future edition. If the Festival is postponed, tickets will normally remain valid for the new dates.
- We are not responsible for personal expenses related to your attendance, such as travel, accommodation, or visas.
5. Age & ticket policy
- Daytime activities are open to minors. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
- Every person entering the festival venue must hold a valid official ticket or accreditation, including minors and accompanying adults.
- Children under 12 years old may enter free of charge only if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and have been previously registered with the organization.
- Evening and night parties are strictly reserved for participants aged 18 and over. A valid ID may be requested at the entrance.
- Alcohol service follows Swiss and Geneva law: no alcohol under 16, and no spirits or distilled alcohol under 18.
6. Code of conduct & consent
Bachata Geneva Festival is a space for everyone. We have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or any unwanted physical or verbal behavior, on or off the dance floor.
- Always ask before dancing, and respect a "no". Consent can be withdrawn at any moment during a dance.
- Respect the personal boundaries, space, and comfort of your dance partners and of other attendees.
- Harassment of any kind (including unwanted advances, inappropriate touching, or discriminatory remarks based on gender, origin, body, sexual orientation, or ability) will not be tolerated.
- Follow the instructions of Festival staff, security, and venue personnel at all times.
If you experience or witness behavior that makes you uncomfortable, please speak to a member of staff or write to info@bachatagenevafestival.com. We may refuse entry to, or remove from the venue, anyone who breaches this code of conduct, without refund and without prejudice to any further action.
7. Health, safety & assumption of risk
- Social dancing is a physical activity. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk, and confirm that you are in adequate physical condition to participate.
- Please tell staff about any medical condition that may require assistance, and stop and seek help if you feel unwell or injured.
- You must comply with all venue safety rules, emergency instructions, and capacity limits.
8. Photography, filming & image rights
The Festival and people authorized by it photograph and film the event for promotional, archival, and marketing purposes. By attending, you acknowledge that you may be captured in photos, video, or live streams, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use such material across our website, social media, and promotional channels, without compensation.
If you have a specific concern about your image, contact us at info@bachatagenevafestival.com and we will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests where the material can be identified. Photography and filming by attendees for personal, non-commercial use is permitted; professional or commercial recording requires our prior written permission.
9. Personal belongings & lost property
You are responsible for your own belongings at all times. The Festival and the venue accept no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal property. Items handed in to lost & found are kept for a limited period; please ask staff on site.
10. Prohibited items & conduct
- Weapons, illegal substances, and dangerous or hazardous items are strictly forbidden.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry, to carry out reasonable bag checks, and to remove anyone who poses a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others.
- Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated areas, in line with Swiss law and venue rules.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Swiss law, the Festival’s liability is limited to cases of intent or gross negligence, and we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to natural events, epidemics, strikes, acts of authorities, or venue closures.
12. Personal data
We process the personal data you provide (such as your name and email) to manage your participation, to communicate with you about the Festival, and, with your consent, to send marketing and to use analytics and cookies on our website. We handle personal data in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR. For full details, see our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
